Cricut Invitations

This week on Practical Scrappers I was challenged to show something people can do with an electronic die cut machine. I decided to use my Cricut Expression and Wild Card Cartridge to make these fun invitations.

This is the closed envelope.

Open envelope.

Close up of closed invitation. The envelope is cut with slits to slide the card corners into. I added a little Stickles where the Cricut had already cut a small design.

The entire open envelope.  I added some gems for a little extra sparkle.

This was fun to make but I will admit, I had to do it twice thanks to my 3 year old "helping".

Alyson 10 Months

This is a layout I did for a Practical Scrappers feature using Staples or Paperclips.  I used staples to make the pocket at the top of the page.  I then tucked a tag in the pocket that I had written some of Alysons favorite things at that time.

Smile

What a smile!  I love this picture of Alyson hamming it up for the camera!

The title "Smile" was made using baker's twine dipped in a mixture of white glue and water then shaped and laid to dry on waxed paper.

SWEET

This background was made by using a jar lid to stamp the circles.  Close to My Heart's Purple Haze ink was used on lavender cardstock.  I used my Cricut to cut out the word Sweet and layered with Momenta papers.

Alyson Pre-K

This was already posted to Practical Scrappers and is my first official layout that I have done in ages!!!

The paper is mostly Fancy Pants Designs - Baby Mine Collection.  The flowers were cut using my Cricut and the leaves at the bottom are a felt piece that I have had in my stash for ages.

Here I go again...

Okay, so it has obviously been a really long time since I have posted on this blog.  I was on a bit of a hiatus as we added a fourth child to our family. I didn't get a chance to scrapbook a whole lot and I certainly didn't have time to post the few pages I did manage to finish.

My children are 11, 8, 3, and 19 months old now and it is time for me to get back at it!  A really good friend of mine, Christine Meyer asked me a few weeks ago to design for her website, Practical Scrappers.  I truly appreciate the opportunity and being the good friend that she is, she knew it would force me to get some layouts done!

So, here I go again....
