Tiny Buttons

This week I was asked to do a layout using something tiny for Practical Scrappers.  I had found some tiny buttons at Jo-Ann's that I thought I would be able to use at some point and this is what I came up with.

This heart was cut free hand from white cardstock and then I simply used glue to attach the tiny buttons.

All of the other accents and the letter stickers are from Bo Bunny.

This is an old picture of my younger daughter and her cousin on my husband's lap.  The girls are now nine and still the best of friends!

If you like what you see, please leave a comment or follow me.  Thanks for looking!

Kaitlyn's Card

I made this card for a friend of our family that recently graduated from high school.

Kaitlyn has a very happy, bubbly personality so I wanted to make her a fun card in her favorite colors.

I hope you like it!

Sometimes God Lets Us Choose Our Family

This week on Practical Scrappers, I was challenged to do something fun for my Title.

I chose to use a combination of corrugated cardboard letters, which I matted with cardstock and then fussy cut around, and small letter stickers (which are one of my favorite things right now).

This layout is special to me because it is about some of our very best friends, friends that we think of as family.  Tim and Shelly and their 3 kids used to live right down the road from us and we were inseparable.  They moved away about 8 years ago but we still miss them all the time!

Fabric ruffles

This week on Practical Scrappers, I was challenged to create a layout incorporating fabric.

I decided to use a scrap of fabric that I had in my stash to create a ruffled edge on my layout.

I first secured the end of the fabric with adhesives and then created a ruffle by folding over the material every 1/2 inch or so and again, securing it with adhesives.

I then used my sewing machine and ran a stitch the entire length of the page so that it looked like this...

I had fun with this page as I hope you can see...

And this is what the layout looked like when I was all done...

I hope you liked this one, so far it is one of my favorites!

Thanks for looking, Leslii

Folded Paper - Pinwheels

This weeks ten things challenge at Practical Scrappers is folded paper.  I decided to make pinwheels and use  them as a fun little embellishment.

I used kraft as my background and the patterned paper is by Basic Grey.  The little saying on the side is by Pebbles.  I had a fun time making this layout and I hope you all like it too!

Using Burlap

For the Practical Scrappers10 things post this week, we found ways to use burlap on our projects.  I had found burlap letter stickers as well as some adorable flower embellishments with burlap leaves.

This is what I ended up with...

The frame was made by tracing hexagons on the background paper.  The paper behind the title and the seed packet paper are both from October Afternoon's Farm Girl line.

I love my final product!

Thanks for taking time to look!

Practical Scrapper's April Card Sketch

This month I was lucky to get to use a card sketch by Patty Selah for our Practical Scrappers April card sketch challenge.

This is my version.

The patterned papers were once again, My Girl by My Mind's Eye. (I love that line!!)  The flower was cut on my Cricut using the Flower Shoppe cartridge.  I then stitched around the flower to add some dimension.  I finished the flower with an epoxy sticker that I placed on pink cardstock and trimmed around.
